How To Style A Spring Wedding

Spring brings lots of new into the world; new flowers, new life and of course newlyweds! We love this time of year and find this to be the perfect time to tie the knot with the one you love as the whole season is about new beginnings and starting the next chapter. Not only does spring have a certain representation element associated to the season, but it is also the best time of year for photos due to the soft natural lighting – what’s not to love? If you are looking to get married in spring we have collated a list of the ‘must haves’ and ‘top for styling your spring wedding, and if you are a guest we have even included some top outfits tips too!

Pretty Pastels All Round

Our first tip applies to both guests and the happy couple so you heard it here first, pastels are the way forward. Nothing looks better than a soft colour palette of pastels at a spring wedding, whether you want to incorporate this within your bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen ties, table runners (great contrast with white table clothes), napkins… the list goes on! Plus pastels are brilliant as you can mix and match different tones and shades and it will fit in perfectly with the soft and colourful natural surroundings you have during spring.

Embrace Nature

If you didn’t already know, spring is the best time for natural photos as it’s not too bright or too dark (plus the days are longer than the colder months so you are more likely to get some gorgeous sunset photos). So even though it may not be 20°, don't shy away from the outdoors and make the most of the beautiful blooming flowers and trees and be sure to incorporate this within your wedding. We have seen the most gorgeous flower centerpieces at Myres Castle during the spring months and they really do add that little extra something to the wedding.

Go Bright And Bold With Your Bouquets

As previously stated, pastels and soft colours are the epitome of spring so why not add that extra pop of colour into your special day? I know we have emphasised the importance of embracing nature and going for light and neutral throughout the day but the difference it can make by adding colour to bouquets and centerpieces is amazing! As you already know, spring is the best time for photos, so the contrast between soft and bright will still look natural and not over saturated in your photos.

In A Sea Of Daffodils

Myres Castle has been famous for its daffodils for over 100 years. Acres of these flowers surround the castle and last for over four weeks between the months of March and April. These make for the most stunning wedding photos and will make your special day that much more unforgettable!

Get Creative

Over the years we have found that one simple rule applies to styling a spring wedding and that is ‘anything goes’. We have seen all types of weddings during the spring months, incorporating different themes, colours and styles and all have worked exceptionally well! So don’t be afraid to get creative with your wedding and make it your own. Whether that be by creating your own centerpieces, making the most of the outdoors by having a range of games and activities for guests to do in between meals and first dances - anything goes!
